Chinese Cricket Club

It had been a long day of coding and I’d just split a bottle of wine. A quick meal was needed before a well-needed deep sleep. I love tastecard deals so I looked up local establishments and settled on the Chinese Cricket Club which offers a generous 50% off the bill. It’s in a great location just north of Blackfriar’s Bridge based inside the Crown Plaza.

September Reads

I’ve never been much of a book worm. However, I’ve recently decided to kick my Candy Crush, Candy Crush Soda and Farm Heroes Saga addictions by spending my commuting time reading instead; I’ve been put down my phone and picked up several books!

I’ll share a few thoughts on what I read on a monthly basis and would love recommendations in the comments section. Hopefully posting my reading list will motivate me to carry on with this new habit…

From champagne to coding and conferences #TheHighlights

Time has slipped through my fingers this week. It’s already Monday but surely that can’t be right? My Place Soho

Breakfast, Lunch AND Dinner all under one roof. My morning coffee and  an evening glass of wine under in one place? I’ve noticed a number of these continental style cafes popping up over London recently and I have to admit that I’m a huge fan! It’s always baffled me why these casual all day venues haven’t been more popular  in the past but it’s all good–the new generation of cafe owners in London have heard my cries and are putting a right to the wrong. From the heights of Sushi Samba to the depths of Hakkasan #TheHighlights

I’m very aware of my current lack of direction with this blog and clarity on its themes–the blogosphere is still a new and mysterious world to me with plenty more to explore and discover. Hopefully the action of this will help influence and shape my own space.

However, for now, there is one thing I do know; I really do indeed enjoy reading about what individuals are doing and trying out, particularly restaurants and bars in and about London. Lifestyle blogs are very readable but I’m not entirely sure that will be the sole content for the Drifting Londoner BUT I’ll try posting weekly roundups for now and see how it goes… Continue reading “From the heights of Sushi Samba to the depths of Hakkasan #TheHighlights”
